CHRIST AFTER READING WHAT WILL HEAVEN BE LIKE?.
Leela Fernando said, “When I came to visit my
granddaughter in China, I found a book in her apartment titled What Will
Heaven Be Like? written by Jack Hartman. I started reading this book and I
was very much touched by the truth I found in the book. I discovered that as a
Buddhist I was very lost and was heading for destruction. I did not want to
miss heaven. I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I want to go back to Sri Lanka and
spread the gospel of Jesus. Please help me with copies of your books so that I
can use them to preach Jesus in my country. I am now a Christian and will never
again be a Buddhist. Pray for me that I will bring many of the people in my

COMMENTS FROM JACK HARTMAN
WE HAVE GOOD NEWS
AND BAD NEWS CONCERNING OUR NEXT BOOK.
When we sent you our last newsletter, we were working
steadily trying to get What Does God Say? finished and to the printer so
that we could feature this book at the Christian Booksellers Convention in
Orlando from July 13-17. I must tell you that all of our hard work was in vain.
After the last newsletter came out, we discovered that we could not possibly
have this book completed in time for this meeting. The reason for the delay is
that this book is entirely different from the other seventeen Christian books
we have written. All of these other books were written with individual
chapters. Each book followed a similar format. What Does God Say? consists
of 94 topics. The format for each of these topics is much different and
requires more space than our normal book. We were aghast to find out that this
book was going to be much too large. That is the bad news.
The good news is that we are cutting this book down
steadily. We are keeping only the very best of the very best. Each day I pray
asking God to guide us so that every detail in the final draft of this book
will be exactly what He wants. God is answering this prayer. This book now is
being tightened and polished so much that we are very excited about what the
finished product will be. As this newsletter goes to the printer, we are
working diligently on the typesetting. We hope to have the book to our printer
by early July. We do not know the date when the book will be available, but we
believe it will be late July or the first part of August. We believe that the
delay of a few weeks will be well worth waiting for. God is answering our
prayers. This book is being tightened tremendously. We believe that What
Does God Say? is greatly anointed by God.
We will look forward to receiving your comments after
you receive your copy, probably in August.
HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW GOD IS REACHING AROUND THE WORLD
MORE AND MORE WITH THIS MINISTRY?
We have been writing these newsletters for many
years. From the time our first book, Trust God for Your Finances, was
published twenty-five years ago, we have received an enormous number of
comments from readers who have been helped. Only a portion of these comments
are on our website. We have many more. Our initial comments came primarily from
people in the United States. Then we began to be used by God to help needy
people in Third World countries in Africa. Many pastors in Africa have taught
from the scriptural contents of our books for several years. Since the initial
comments that came primarily from the United States and countries in Africa,
God has constantly expanded this ministry. Trust God for Your Finances now
has been translated into Russian, Danish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Korean, Hebrew
and Greek. This book also has been translated into the Tamil dialect in India.
In recent newsletters, you may have noticed that God
is expanding our books and Scripture cards into even more foreign countries. We
have been receiving comments from the Philippines for almost three years. In
recent months we have received several comments from Thailand. Unshakable
Faith in Almighty God is currently being translated into the Urdu language
in Pakistan. We have received several comments from China. This month we
received our first comment from Sri Lanka. When I first wrote Trust God for
Your Finances in 1983, I wrote the entire book in longhand. I had no
experience writing Christian books. This book was turned down by each of the
Christian publishers we sent it to. We ultimately published the book ourselves.
We are in absolute awe of how God has used Lamplight
Ministries to help needy people around the world. Our checking account balance
is very low as this newsletter is being written. Sending all of these books
(average $15 for each book for shipping and handling) is very expensive. Please
pray about sending a generous contribution to us to aid us in helping many
people all over the world.

We love you and pray God’s blessing upon you in
Jesus’ name. Beni Lup of WorldTeach Romania is spreading the Word of God
through Lamplight books in Romania. He wrote to me: “Greetings from Romania! I have
news from the Bible students in Moldova (a republic between Romania and
Ukraine).

Beni Lup is in the middle of his law exams and will
complete them on July 10th. Please pray that the mind of Christ in Beni will
prevail, that he will be led to study what he needs to know, and that he will
pass the exams in the excellence of the Lord Jesus Christ. A lack of finances
prevents Beni from printing the translations of our books in the Romanian
language. These translations are strong on our hearts to be printed and
distributed to the Romanian people who were so long without the gospel and now
can receive it openly.
The ten 85-minute cassettes that originally
accompanied our ten sets of Scripture cards now are available on CD for $10
each plus postage with five to nine of any combination at a 40% discount and
ten or more at a 50% discount. Most people really enjoy Jack’s voice and
presentation of the gospel on each of the ten subjects. Giving someone a CD on
a topic of interest is a great way to present the Gospel to friends, family,
and anyone else as God prompts you.

I encourage everyone to go through Trust God for
Your Finances again if you already have it or order the set. We all must be
following God’s instructions. He provides for His children regardless of the
outward circumstances. A pastor from Iowa received a copy of Trust God for
Your Finances about ten years ago. He read it and gave copies of it to his
Board of Directors. Six months ago he remembered the book and reread it. He
said, “I started digging into it and saw the ideas and concepts of consistently
speaking these promises to our situation, standing on God’s promises. Extreme
fear and anxiety is not there as it used to be. I understand that God’s
blessings will be there regardless of the financial situation in our society.
We must trust Him and be obedient to His voice.”

Please pray for her as she leads in this key area of Lamplight Ministries. I
believe that we are in a war on earth today and that we are to be living as
alert soldiers in time of war. We know that the enemy is not in one place. He
is all around us and is ready to pounce on anyone who is vulnerable; we must be
clothed in God’s armor (see Ephesians 6:10-18)

representatives regarding legislation to keep our freedom to proclaim the Gospel.

express your beliefs.
