i am working diligently on our next book. I was seventy-seven years old in July, but I am still very busy doing what God has called me to do. As this newsletter goes to print, I am within a few days of completing the first draft of our next book which tentatively is titled Victory Over Adversity. I always write the first two or three drafts. Judy then goes to work and greatly improves the book in all subsequent drafts.

We believe that very difficult times are coming on the world. Most Christians believe that we live in the last days before Jesus returns. The Bible says, “…understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].” (II Timothy 3:1 amp)

Luke 21:25 in the Amplified Bible says that many people will be bewildered and in doubt during the last days, not knowing which way to turn. Luke 21:26 in the Amplified Bible says that men’s hearts will fail them because of fear, dread and apprehension of the things that are coming on the world. We believe that we live in the early part of the last days before Jesus Christ returns. We believe that the rapture of the church will take place relatively soon.

We believe that the seven year Great Tribulation will take place immediately after the rapture of the church. This seven year period literally will be hell on earth. We describe this ordeal in detail in our new book titled What Does God Say?.

We believe that the world will go through difficult times before the seven year Tribulation. We believe that God will allow these difficult times to come upon the world because He wants to draw as many people as possible to Himself for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ before His Son returns (see John 6:44 and II Peter 3:9).

The first chapter of this book deals with the problems in the last days that are explained in the Bible. The second chapter explains in detail the problems that we believe will be reported upon by the news media during the months and years to come. Most thinking people who read the first two chapters of this book will be convinced that difficult times are on the way.

We very much dislike having to write what we are writing in the first two chapters. However, we cannot stick our heads in the sand and ignore the facts. There is no question that difficult times are coming upon us. The question is when, not if.

The initial chapters of this book define the problem. The remainder of the book explains how the Lord will bring you safely through these difficult times if you know and obey His specific instructions and if you know and have absolute faith in the promises He has given to you. Unbelievers will panic when they see the difficult times that are coming upon the world. Many Christians will panic as well because they have not obeyed God's instructions to renew their minds in His Word each day and to meditate day and night on the holy Scriptures.

Jesus Christ won a total, complete and absolute victory over every problem you will ever face (see II Corinthians 2:14). Receiving manifestation of this victory will be automatic when Christians arrive in heaven. However, walking in the manifestation of this enormous victory is far from automatic during our lives here on earth. You must know what God has promised and have absolute faith that your loving Father will do exactly what He has promised to do. “…without faith it is impossible to please God…” (Hebrews 11:6 niv)

This book will be filled with hundreds of specific instructions and promises from the holy Scriptures that will enable you to walk in the victory that Jesus Christ won for you during the difficult times that are coming upon the earth. We are very excited about this book. We believe that many people will be helped.

CORRECTION ON OUR NEW BOOK. Writing a book of the magnitude of What Does God Say? is a formidable task. Explaining 1,221 verses of Scripture on 94 different topics is a massive job. We do not know of any ministry of our size that has ever attempted such an enormous undertaking. We have received two comments about minor errors in context in this book. We eliminate or correct many verses of Scripture that are incorrect in each of our books. Occasionally we miss one. We apologize. We are not perfect. We are doing our very best. We will correct any errors in the next printing.

PLEASE PRAY ABOUT SUPPORTING OUR MINISTRY FINANCIALLY. As you can see from these monthly newsletters, we are helping many people all over the world. We have several requests for large numbers of books that we are unable to fulfill because our finances at this time are not sufficient to deal with the significantly increased postage rates that have caused some ministries to stop sending books overseas altogether. We very much want to help these people. We are trusting God for regular contributions to help us continue this expensive project. Dear Lamplight family,

We love you. We treasure our relationship across the miles that are close in prayer.

A dear friend told me that What Does God Say? is arranged in a way that makes focusing on each topic very easy. She said that the subtitles and the space between each verse enable her to focus on each passage. She also said that she is a fast reader. In other books she reads so fast that sometimes she misses part of what she reads. In this book, she says that you can’t miss anything, because you are made to slow down and stop to focus on each explanation and verse of Scripture. Another dear friend told me that she had always wondered how God could turn His back on His Son. She said that she now understands after reading the Salvation section of What Does God Say?

We believe that if you give this book to unsaved loved ones, they will receive it gratefully. Their curiosity will be aroused. The 40% discount for five to nine of any of our items in any combination and the 50% discount for ten or more of any combination of our items include our new book. We have never seen a book that so clearly defines heaven, hell, and salvation in the first three topics. On the front cover we invite people to see if they have made the most important decision they will ever make. We do not know how long we will remain on the earth. Nancy Sue Laminack has invited me to join her on a trip to India in November. I attended the training at the Literacy and Evangelism International headquarters in Tulsa, OK this year with Nancy Sue as one of the instructors. I have a Master’s Degree in Secondary Reading, so literacy is a passion in my life. I am inviting Pastor Ebenezer Moses of India Gospel Fellowship to join us at this training. We will train pastors and leaders to teach people to read with the gospel message included in the learning-to-read primers.

We are mailing copies of some of our books for the English-speaking pastors and leaders to use in their church planting ministries. I will be teaching the principles in Trust God for Your Finances to the pastors and leaders in India. If you would like to invest in my trip to India in November, you can begin to do so now. Please include a note of explanation with your contribution. The cost will be about $1850 for the airline ticket plus $25 a day for fifteen days = $375. We also are trusting that we will be able to donate a projector that projects from a computer to a screen. We will need this projector in our teaching. We can take one, but we prefer to donate one for the pastor to use in his training of pastors of churches he plants. We would like to give a monetary donation to Pastor Rajan as well for his church planting ministry.

A man from Washington emailed me saying, “Last year I reread Trust God for Your Finances a few times because I had been having trouble in that area of life. It seemed like my wife and I would work and work and get promotions, but we never seemed to have financial soundness. Everything is much better since I started focusing on renewing my mind, but this still is a work in progress. I am getting settled into a pattern of tithing and cheerful giving. It is a comfort to at least have turned the corner on the road to trusting our heavenly Father in this area. I also have enjoyed several of your sets of Scripture Meditation Cards. What a great idea!”
