COMMENTS FROM JACK HARTMAN

 

I ask you to hold me up in prayer for what God has called me to do between the ages of 75 and 80.  I am 75 years old now.  Many people are fully retired at this age.  I am believing God that the remainder of my life will be more productive than the first 75 years have been. 

 

I have spent a great deal of time and prayer seeking God’s will for my life during this five year period.  I am constantly revising and fine tuning as the Lord makes clearer to me what I should do.  At this time I believe the following are the books the Lord is leading me to write during this period.

 

I always do all of the preliminary work for each of our books.  I also do the first two drafts of each book by myself.  I give the completed Draft #2 to Judy.  She then does a tremendous job writing and editing during all successive drafts.

I am totally focused on completing these books.  In order to help me to focus on this goal, we are in the process of having the actual covers of these books completed now.  When I receive these covers in a few days I will look at them continually.  This constant reminder of the finished product will help me to keep this five year goal in front of me at all times.

 

I have changed the title of our next book which should be published in the spring of 2007.  I have never been more excited about any book than I am about the The Supernatural Power of the Living Word of God.

 

The material that will be in this book originally was part of another book on adversity that I was writing.  As I wrote this material, it came alive to me.   The Lord put it on my heart to take this material out of the other book and put it into a book with this title.  I am almost finished with the first draft. 

 

This book is filled with sensational facts about God’s supernatural living Word.  I have spent almost 20,000 hours in the past 32 years studying and meditating on the Word of God.  I continue to learn many great truths from God’s Word even after spending all of this time in God’s magnificent Book of Instructions. 

 

I ask for your prayers.  My mind is still sharp.  However, I can tell you that it is more difficult to write diligently six day a week than it has been in the past.  My overall health is good.  I take no medications.  I have never had any prescription except for occasional antibiotics for a virus.  Nevertheless, it is much more difficult to pay the significant price that I pay than it has been in the past.  I am consumed with zeal to finish the assignment God has given to me.  Your prayers will be greatly appreciated. 

 

Would you please pray about sending us a generous contribution to help us maintain our significantly increased commitment to send many more publications to needy people?  We have several hundred unfulfilled requests from people in Third World countries.  We are sending out a lot of free books and Scripture cards.  We do not have the funds to continue to do this, but we have maintained our commitment because we are trusting the Lord to touch the hearts of people to help us to help many people around the world.  Thank you and God bless you. 

 

COMMENTS FROM JUDY HARTMAN

 

Now more than ever we must know Whose we are and where we are located.  We are seated with Christ Jesus at the right hand of our heavenly Father.  We are looking down with Christ at the world.  We are not of the world.  We live here, but our home is in heaven.  Our address is heaven.  We are here on God’s mission.  His mission is to bring every single person who will come back into His presence through Jesus Christ.  His mission is to prepare us for the coming kingdom, the New Jerusalem where Jesus Christ is King and we will serve in His government as kings and priests.

 

At the same time the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are within us living here on earth.   We are His instruments of power and glory wherever we go, whatever we do.  We live in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.  We must look each day to see where God will apply this power.  We must be ready at each moment to speak of the hope that is within us.  We will overcome all evil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our own testimony.  We are praying for you and request that you pray for us that we all be obedient in every area of our lives, ready for whatever we may face.

 

Are we ready to lay our lives down for the Christ?  More importantly, are we ready to suffer for Him as brothers and sisters are suffering all over the world this very minute, suffering and dying because they will not deny Christ Jesus?  We must live alert and watchful, praying always.

 

Every moment of our lives matters for the kingdom of God.  Every decision we make matters for the kingdom of God.  We must tighten up the hatches, and eliminate whatever is extraneous in our lives.  We must live lean and ready for whatever God anoints us to do.  Living is very serious today, yet the joy of the Lord is our strength.

 

We have completed the framework of our new website (www.lamplight.net.)  Please let us know how you find it.  I am trusting that by the time you receive this letter the site will be an enjoyable experience every time you enter it.  We have a daily devotional for you starting with the Freedom from Worry and Fear Scripture cards, a different card each day.  We invite you to tell anyone who would like to be encouraged by the Word of God daily about our new websiteJ

 

We have arranged our publications on a chart that lists specific areas of concern that many people have.  You can look at the chart to see any issue that you are facing and see which of our publications cover that issue.  Our publications actually are instructions in righteousness.

 

Our website includes reports on our foreign outreaches.  You can find extensive information about India Gospel Fellowship.  We list the other countries where we are sending our publications regularly.  You will be blessed by the messages from pastors and leaders in foreign countries who use Lamplight publications for their sermons and their teachings.  We have pictures of some of these pastors on our refrigerator to connect us with them daily and to be reminded to pray for them.

 

Jack and I have both written personal testimonies that we trust will draw others to Jesus.  We came from such different backgrounds and both of us by God’s grace and mercy found our way to Jesus Christ!  There is a place to see past newsletters as well as to sign up to receive our free monthly newsletter.  We encourage you to send your friends to our website.

 

Investing in Lamplight is available on our website.  For some people it is more convenient.  We hold our investors dear to our hearts because you are making a statement of confidence in us by choosing to be on our team for the spread of the gospel world-wide.  We thank each of you so very much.

 

Each month we send a large number of books to Third World countries, especially African nations.  Because of your investments we are able to pay the high cost of postage for these mailings. Elizabeth exclaims over the cost at the Post Office.  We thank God that we are able to send the Word of God to these most grateful pastors and leaders, who find the explanations of the Word of God easy to understand and to teach to their people.

 

Giving is our way of life.  A treasured part of each month is our sending our tithe to the ministries we believe are reaching the lost as we are instructed to do.  Working together with the ministry leaders over the years assures us of the richness of the soil of our investments.

 

Both Jack and I have college degrees but we write at the late primary school level.  We don’t use large words.  That is just the way we write.  At the same time people who have studied the Bible for years also express gratitude for how we divide the Word of God.  We thank God that we are able to reach across the spectrum of education and of readers.
