A progress report on our next book. Judy and I continue to work steadily on our nineteenth Christian book that will be titled Victory Over Adversity. We believe that God’s perfect timing is working in this book because of all of the uncertainty in the world today. This book is filled with hundreds of scriptural instructions and promises pertaining to the victory that Jesus Christ has provided for you. You will be guided step-by-step so that you will know exactly what God's Word instructs you to do whenever you face adversity.

I wrote a book titled Soaring Above the Problems of Life in 1986. Many people have been helped by this book. This new book on coping with adversity includes many additional scriptural concepts that I have learned during the last twenty-two years. This book also includes a great deal of valuable input from Judy who was not co-author of our original book on adversity. We believe that this book will be published in March or April of 2009.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU HEAR A SIREN? I cannot hear a siren without stopping whatever I am doing to pray immediately for each person who is affected in any way by the reason for that siren. For many years I have prayed every time I heard a siren.

A siren is a clear indication that someone is in trouble. The Bible says that you should help people who are suffering. If you reach out with love and compassion by praying for the hurting person whose pain is signified by a siren, your fervent prayer will help this person (see James 5:16).

Please pray about helping us to send books to China. We were able to distribute several books in China earlier this year. Our contact for these books moved away from China. We have been working diligently to establish a new contact in China.

We believe that God has guided us to accomplish this goal. We now are working out the details of sending books to Edgar Sirucha. Because of some resistance in China against Christian literature, we have to be very careful how we send these books.

We currently are communicating by email with Ed Sirucha. Once we finalize the details, we will ship books to him in a plain envelope with no ministry name. These books will have only our names and our residence address in the return address section of the label.

We are very focused on sharing the scriptural contents of our books with more people in China. We believe that we will be able to help many people in China in 2009 and in subsequent years. Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance for us as we proceed with this endeavor.

Also, please pray and ask the Lord if He would have you help us financially to send our publications to China and to needy people in many other countries. Sending books to foreign countries is very expensive. We are in the process of making additional commitments to send books to several other countries. We are stepping out in faith, trusting the Lord completely for the money we need to fulfill the commitments we are making.

Because of the high cost of sending books, we try to send our publications to pastors who often will preach in their churches from the scriptural contents of these books. By doing this we are able to use your contributions to reach as many people as possible with each book that we send. Please pray about becoming a monthly partner with Lamplight Ministries to help us each month to reach out to more needy people all over the world.

Beloved Lamplight family,

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are keenly aware of how we as children of God are clearly strangers and simply travelers on this earth. Our home is in heaven. We are remembering that God sent His Son to the earth to live for us and to die for us, so that we could live forever with our Father, with His Son, and with the Holy Spirit. The red color that accompanies Christmas can represent the blood of Jesus Christ that bought for us our home in heaven. Jesus Christ enabled us to communicate with God every moment of our lives.

While people who do not know God are in a panic in these uncertain times, we as God’s children remain in peace. Our certainty is in Jesus Christ. Our lives do not depend on outward circumstances. Jesus Christ is our breath, our very life. We are here for Him to live through us to reveal God’s love through salvation for every person on earth who will come to Him. We are here to announce the coming kingdom where there will be no fear, no sorrow, no tears, no heartbreak and no disappointments. In this kingdom we will experience the heart and character of God: love, joy, peace, longsuffering gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

I would like to invite you to express Christ to your circle of influence by blessing your local crisis pregnancy center. Abortion is a leading cause of death in our nation with 1.2 million abortions a year. We are sending our Scripture cards to a dear lady in Maine who is handing them to ladies and girls as they come to their local crisis pregnancy center. She said, “About 160 moms have changed their minds this year – it’s the most we ever had! About 1,865 since 1990 and 368 salvations. God has been so good to us – allowing us to co-labor with Him on the streets.”

We also are sending Scripture cards to our local crisis pregnancy center. We can all have a part in making a difference in the lives of those who cannot speak for themselves. I invite you to purchase our Scripture cards and take or mail them to your local crisis pregnancy center.

Our book, 100 Years from Today, also would be an excellent salvation tool because it contains Jack’s salvation story and a very simple message of salvation. Give yourself a gift of touching lives who so desperately need to know our Lord Jesus Christ. (Remember that a purchase of five to nine of any publication receives a 40% discount and a purchase of ten or more of any of our publications receives a 50% discount. Our desire is for our publications to reach people who are hungry to know God.)

The same lady who works to save unborn babies wrote: “Thank you both so very much. Your book about eagles, Soaring above the Problems of Life, helped me get through my cancer. It was the scariest-creepiest time of my life. I love you both so much in the Lord!”

A man from Illinois emailed us saying, “Several weeks ago I gave a copy of What Does God Say? to a friend of mine who lives in Atlanta. He is caring for his mother who is in Hospice. He told me yesterday how much he likes this book. He reads it to his mother every day.”

For at least eighteen years we have received orders from people who serve in the Amway Global International. Many of these people received Jesus Christ at a worship service during a convention or meeting. Trust God for Your Finances was recommended to a lady in Pennsylvania by her upline.
